Call for Proposals: State of Sanitation in Public Elementary Schools - An Exploratory Study Print E-mail

The Philippine EcosanNetwork (PEN) through its Sustainable Sanitation Knowledge Node (SSKN) Projectmanaged by the Center for Advanced Philippine Studies (CAPS) is invitinginterested parties and individuals to submit a research proposal on the Topic: State of Sanitation in Public ElementarySchools: An Exploratory Study. 

 
The main objective of the study is to identify and assess institutional, policyand regulatory gaps that may explain why state sanitation conditions inelementary public schools are bad.

The main objective of the study is to identify and assess institutional, policyand regulatory gaps that may explain why state sanitation conditions inelementary public schools are bad. 

 

The specific objectivesare:

1.  Identify andcollect government policies, laws and regulations, department orders andprograms pertaining to school sanitation.

2.  Analyze interconnection, gaps and inconsistencies of thesegovernment policies, laws and regulations, department orders and programs toexplain this state of school sanitation.

3.  Providerecommendations for future actions to address these gaps and inconsistencies.

Timetable

Engagement will start 31March 2010.  The duration of the engagement is one-and-halfperson-months spread over five-months with the final reportsubmitted not later than 30 September 2010

Submission of Proposals

Proposals should indicate:

1)      commitmentand capacity to undertake the study;

2)      appreciationof the project objectives;

3)      researchstrategy;

4)      CV ofprimary researcher/consultant or corporate profile of organization; and

5)      proposedbudget with details showing professional fee/s and out-of pocket costs.
